Alaric "Al" Dela Cruz returns to his hometown of San Rafael, a place he left behind years ago, seeking a fresh start. However, his homecoming is anything but ordinary. His father's decision to remarry brings him face-to-face with a new reality: his father's new wife and his charming yet arrogant stepbrother, Joaquin "Jao" Alcantara, the town's beloved mayor. The clash of personalities between Al and Jao ignites a spark of tension that can't be ignored. As Al navigates the complicated dynamics of his newfound family and the pull of his unresolved past, he finds himself caught in a web of emotions. With the town of San Rafael as the backdrop, Al must decide whether to embrace the possibility of love and belonging or remain trapped in the ghosts of his past.

The Artist
I’m Renzo Ilustre, a writer drawn to the messy intricacies of human experience. My work blends realism and imagination, creating worlds where time warps and thoughts flow unfiltered.Writing for me is an exploration, a chaotic process where fragmented timelines and diverse voices reflect the vibrancy of modern life. My characters are quirky, navigating identity, mental health, and the fragile balance of joy and struggle.I see storytelling as an atelier—a workshop for ideas to be shaped, broken, and rebuilt. My style embraces:Stream-of-Consciousness
Raw, unfiltered thoughts of my characters.Non-Linear Narratives
Fragmented timelines that echo life’s unpredictability.Diversity
Giving voice to often-overlooked perspectives.Intertextuality
Subtle connections to literature and pop culture. My passion for storytelling ignited young, scribbling in notebooks and losing myself in literary greats. Now, I aim to create narratives that linger and provoke thought. When I’m not writing, I’m sipping coffee, surrounded by books and music. I find humor in the mundane and cherish quiet moments that spark ideas. My stories don’t offer answers—they ask questions, reminding readers that life’s unpredictability is worth exploring.

A Writer's Dream
Article
by Renzo Ilustre
I have always dreamed of becoming a published author. Of holding a book in my hands with my name on the cover. Of seeing my words printed on pages that others could read, feel, and connect with. It’s a dream I’ve been chasing for a long time. I’ve spent countless hours writing, rewriting, doubting, and hoping. Some days, I wonder if I’ll ever get there. But no matter how slow the journey feels, I remind myself of one thing—I am already a writer.Publishing is the goal, but writing is the heart of it all. And thankfully, we live in a time where stories don’t have to stay hidden in drawers, waiting for the perfect moment. Digital platforms have given writers like me a space to share our work, to find readers, and to grow. Every story I put out into the world, no matter where, is a step closer to that dream. So, to anyone else on this journey: Keep writing. Keep sharing. Keep believing. A dream doesn’t become reality overnight, but every word written, every story told, brings it to life. One day, we’ll get there. And when we do, it’ll be worth every moment.
